Trauma or Monsters All trailer release date

What happens when you bring the legends of horror into a single, simmering pot? Director Larry Fessenden is about to deliver exactly that. He is uniting the vampire, Frankenstein’s monster, and the werewolf in an ambitious new feature titled Trauma or, Monsters All, a cinematic journey that explores not just classic mythology, but the deep, human wounds that lie beneath the surface of our collective memory.

This project is the culmination of decades spent by Fessenden exploring supernatural mythology and contemporary anxieties through independent horror. By weaving together previous features like Habit (vampire), Depraved (Frankenstein), and Blackout (werewolf), Fessenden crafts a narrative where these legendary figures finally coexist in the same world.

The story itself takes a compelling turn. It follows visiting writer Cassandra (played by Laëtitia Hollard) as she seeks research in the quiet upstate town of Talbot Falls. Working alongside a new friend, Agnes (played by Aitana Doyle), Cassandra unearths unsettling truths about the community’s buried history. As she publishes an article exposing the town’s secrets, the suppressed fears and guilt of generations begin to manifest in physical, monstrous forms, forcing the community to confront their own psychological trauma.

In this unique setting, the monsters are not just creatures of legend; they are manifestations of deep-seated emotional wounds. Fessenden uses this framework to explore themes of memory, identity, and the inescapable wounds that define the human experience.

The film is a collaboration powered by Dark Sky Films and Glass Eye Pix, a partnership that has fostered some of the most influential independent horror films of their era. The project is a bold, uncompromising vision that solidifies Fessenden’s reputation as a true visionary in the genre.

Marking another exciting collaboration, the film will premiere in New York on November 4, followed by a nationwide Video On Demand release on November 24. For those eager to experience this monster mash-up, the theatrical engagement will feature special cast appearances and a Q&A at the IFC Center.

The ensemble cast includes Laëtitia Hollard, Aitana Doyle, Addison Timlin, and others, bringing a rich tapestry of characters to the unfolding narrative. This 119-minute feature is a testament to the power of independent storytelling, reminding audiences that the most terrifying monsters are often the ones we carry within ourselves.
