VisionQuest creator says no GenAI used in making the show
When it comes to the fascinating world of artificial intelligence, there is often a debate about where the line between human creativity and machine generation is drawn. Recently, a new Marvel series has jumped into this discussion by exploring the very concept of artificial intelligence, yet its creators have made a definitive statement about its origins.
The new series, titled VisionQuest, serves as the first solo exploration of the title’s themes, diving deep into the complexities of artificial intelligence. Despite tackling such a cutting-edge subject, the series has deliberately kept its narrative firmly grounded in human experience, emphasizing a completely human-made approach.
This commitment to authenticity led series creator Terry Matalas to offer a clear confirmation regarding the production process. Matalas recently announced that no generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) was used in the making of the Disney+ series. This decision was not merely a technical choice, but a philosophical one rooted in the story’s core vision.
Matalas explained that the creative impetus behind the project meant there was simply no need for the technology. The narrative required a specific, human touch that machine generation could not replicate, asserting that the human element was paramount to the story’s impact.
The debut of VisionQuest is scheduled for October 14 on the Disney+ streaming service, promising viewers a story where the intricate themes of AI are explored through a lens that remains authentically human. It sets a compelling standard, proving that even when dealing with the most advanced technologies, the art of storytelling remains fundamentally in human hands.
