Adria Arjona on Bix Spin-off after Andor’s finale
The emotional fallout from the conclusion of the Disney+ Star Wars series Andor has left fans pondering the fate of its characters. For actress Adria Arjona, this lingering question extended to her character, Bix Caleen, sparking a fascinating conversation about future storytelling possibilities.
In an interview, Arjona addressed the potential for a Bix Caleen spin-off, revealing that while she doesn’t rule out the idea entirely, she has a very specific condition for pursuing it. She emphasized a deep respect for the world and the narrative created by the series’ creator, Tony Gilroy.
“I am the most loyal Gilroy there is. If Tony Gilroy is in, I’m right there with him,” Arjona stated. She expressed profound admiration for Gilroy’s work, noting that she does not wish to impose her own creative fingerprints on a story she deeply respects.
The emotional weight of the Andor finale, which saw Bix Caleen on the starship Mina-Rau alongside the droid B2EMO, resonated deeply. The storyline culminated in a poignant sequence that explored the complex relationship between Bix and protagonist Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna.
Despite the desire to explore Bix’s adventures further, Arjona admitted that she felt the series concluded effectively. “It might be too soon. I don’t want to say never, but I love the way he ended that show. I respect it, so I want to keep it like that for now,” she explained, preferring to leave the established narrative intact.
Currently, Arjona is channeling her energy into new projects. She is actively promoting her sci-fi horror movie Onslaught, where she portrays Celeste, a former military sniper navigating life in a desert trailer park with her daughter.
The film Onslaught, directed by Adam Wingard, brings a cast of notable talent, including Drew Starkey, Dan Stevens, Eric Wareheim, and Rebecca Hall, adding another layer of compelling drama to Arjona’s portfolio.
Looking ahead, Arjona is also gearing up for her debut in the DC Universe next year with James Gunn’s Man of Tomorrow, though details regarding her character in that upcoming film remain under wraps.
