The casting buzz for the upcoming X-Men revival is heating up, and the attention is now firmly on Asa Germann, the star of The Boys: Gen V and Scream 7. This versatile actor is in final talks for a pivotal role in the Marvel Studios’ ambitious X-Men project.

Germann was initially rumored to be in contention for the role of Cyclops, a position that had previously drawn attention, particularly given the high-profile casting of Kit Connor for the role in Heartstopper and Warfare.

However, the vision behind the project has apparently been even more impressed with Germann’s potential. Following these discussions, the studio has extended a formal offer, positioning him for the role of Warren Worthington III, better known by his iconic moniker, Angel.

The winged hero is a beloved figure, introduced in the original X-Men debut in 1963, and has a rich cinematic history. Previous on-screen portrayals of the character have included Ben Foster in X-Men: The Last Stand and Ben Hardy in X-Men: Apocalypse, establishing a deep history for the character.

Germann’s inclusion solidifies a powerhouse ensemble for the film. He joins an already stellar cast featuring Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Christopher Abbott as Professor X, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue, and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adding further excitement, Adam Driver is reportedly up for the villainous role of Mr. Sinister.

The feature film is set to be helmed by Jake Schreier, who is directing the action, with production slated to begin in earnest, aiming for a wide release on May 5th, 2028.
