A new wave of fantasy action is brewing, thanks to the recently released teaser trailer for Paramount Pictures’ adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s celebrated novel, Children of Blood and Bone.

The cinematic vision plunges viewers into a vibrant African fantasy kingdom where destiny hinges on reclaiming lost power. At the heart of the narrative is Zelie (played by Thuso Mbedu), a young woman who embarks on a perilous quest to reclaim the magic violently seized from her people by the ruthless King Saran (portrayed by Chiwetel Ejiofor).

To face such tyranny, Zelie doesn’t walk alone. She gathers an unlikely alliance with her older brother, Tzain (Tosin Cole), alongside the royal family—Princess Amari (Stenberg) and Prince Inan (Damson Idris)—forming a formidable resistance against Saran’s brutal reign.

The story promises high stakes, epic battles, and complex relationships as these characters navigate a world governed by magic, power struggles, and the fight for freedom.
