CJ ENM Sells ‘Hotel Del Luna’ & ‘Signal’ to Czech & Slovak Channels
The global appetite for Korean entertainment is only growing, and now, the wave is hitting Central and Eastern Europe with powerful force. Korean studio CJ ENM has just cemented significant new partnerships, marking a major step in expanding the distribution of K-Content across the region.
These strategic alliances involve major television networks in neighboring countries: TV Markíza in Slovakia and TV Nova in the Czech Republic. Both broadcasters are owned by the European media giant Central European Media Enterprises (CME), bringing a powerful continental distribution platform to the Korean content market.
This collaboration is far more than a simple licensing agreement; it represents a concerted effort to deepen cultural exchange by making high-quality Korean scripted dramas and series more accessible to a wider European audience.
The scope of the deal is substantial, covering a total of ten scripted titles. These selections promise a rich tapestry of Korean storytelling, ready to captivate viewers across the diverse cultural landscapes of Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and beyond.
By integrating K-Content into these established regional media channels, CJ ENM is tapping into a highly receptive market, positioning Korean entertainment as a dominant force in the region’s media consumption habits.
This initiative underscores the growing synergy between Korean creative industries and Central European media conglomerates, setting a compelling example of how global content can bridge geographical and linguistic divides.
