The sprawling world of Gundam is constantly expanding, pushing the boundaries of its multimedia universe. As anticipation builds for upcoming live-action films and video games, the focus is shifting to the tabletop, where fans can engage with the legacy in new ways. Bandai Namco is fueling this enthusiasm by preparing a major release for the Gundam Card Game in the form of the Heavy Dominion starter deck.

This highly anticipated release is set to launch on September 25, 2026, marking the 14th starter release in the trading card game. Bandai Namco has already provided a glimpse into the collection, revealing 16 cards that showcase the scope of what this green-and-white deck brings to the table.

The centerpiece of the Heavy Dominion set is the formidable Full Armor Unicorn Gundam, highlighting heavily armored units from the franchise. The deck features iconic mobile suits such as The O, Gundam NT-1, and G-Falcon DX, alongside beloved pilots like Paptimus Scirocco and Banagher Links. This lineup promises rich tactical gameplay for all players.

Designed for broad appeal, the game is flexible enough to handle everything from traditional one-on-one matches to more complex multi-player scenarios. This adaptability ensures that whether you are a seasoned veteran or a newcomer, the experience remains engaging.

To make entry into the game simple and accessible, the starter package comes bundled with everything needed for immediate play. The $15.99 package includes a 50-card prebuilt deck, 10 Resource Cards, two Token Cards, a paper Damage Counter, a Rule/Playsheet, and a Bonus Pack. This setup means new players do not need to invest in a core set before diving into the action with friends who already own decks.

While the excitement surrounding the card game is palpable, availability remains a challenge. The starter deck retails for $15.99, but regional shortages have already caused prices on similar products in trading card markets to surge, with some listings selling for at least twice their retail value.

Since its mid-July launch, the card game has successfully made waves across multiple markets, establishing itself as a favorite tabletop title among local retailers. This momentum builds upon the massive foundation the franchise has established, which stretches back to the original Mobile Suit Gundam anime series of 1979 and has since ballooned into a sprawling multimedia empire.

The multimedia universe of Gundam continues to grow, marked by upcoming films and television projects, ensuring that the hobby remains vibrant and relevant for dedicated fans looking to explore the depth of this epic saga.
