A new cinematic portrait of one of the world’s most controversial figures is hitting the big screen, and it promises to be a deep dive into the turbulent legacy of Elon Musk. Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney is leading the charge with the release of “Musk,” a nearly four-hour documentary that seeks to provide the definitive and unvarnished examination of the tech billionaire’s journey.

Spanning four years of intensive investigation, the film traces Musk’s trajectory from his leadership roles at companies like Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter to his emergence as a polarizing global icon. It aims to dissect the complex reality behind the headlines, offering viewers an unflinching look at the rise and the controversy that defined his influence.

The documentary is currently making waves as it prepares for its premiere at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, where the teaser trailer was released today.

Adding a deeply personal dimension to the narrative is the story of Elon Musk’s ex-partner, 28-year-old influencer Ashley St. Clair. St. Clair participated in the film’s unveiling, sharing a powerful message about truth and comfort during a press conference.

She revealed that after giving birth to Musk’s thirteenth child, she made a significant choice, rejecting a 40 million dollar non-disclosure agreement offer from Musk. St. Clair participated to “set the example for my kids that we should never take being materially comfortable that we’re speaking the truth.”

The production of “Musk” is a collaborative effort, involving Jigsaw Productions, Closer Media, Anonymous Content, and Double Agent. The film is slated for a U.S. theatrical release on October 16th, followed by an exclusive streaming window on HBO Max.
