Four years have passed since the conclusion of the Obi-Wan Kenobi series, yet for star Ewan McGregor, the story is far from over. The former Jedi Master remains convinced that the saga deserves a continuation, and he is openly calling on Disney to make the next chapter happen.

Speaking during a recent press tour, McGregor confirmed his readiness to step back into the role of Obi-Wan Kenobi once more. His stance is clear: while the production may be waiting for the right moment, he is prepared and eager for the narrative to move forward.

“I’m ready whenever they are,” McGregor stated. He articulated a deeper vision for the character and the story, emphasizing that his desire stems from an artistic longing to explore the journey of Obi-Wan. He reflected on leaving the responsibility of Luke Skywalker to find his own path, wandering off into the desert with Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru, allowing Qui-Gon’s spirit to guide him.

McGregor expressed a desire to craft these stories for the rest of his career, noting that he has plenty of time to explore the emotional landscape of Obi-Wan Kenobi. He firmly put the ball in Disney’s court, urging them to pursue this continuation.

The original Obi-Wan Kenobi series followed the events of Revenge of the Sith, charting the former Jedi’s mission to rescue Leia Organa and confront his former apprentice. The project had originally been envisioned as a cinematic trilogy by Stuart Beattie, exploring Kenobi’s profound transition from the character seen at the end of Revenge of the Sith to the one introduced in A New Hope.

Beyond his commitment to the Star Wars universe, McGregor is currently immersed in new projects. He will soon be starring alongside Anne Hathaway in the sci-fi thriller The End of Oak Street, a film written and directed by David Robert Mitchell. The plot involves a mysterious cosmic event that transports a neighborhood to an unknown location, forcing the Platt family to fight for survival.
