London Film Festival reveals full programme
The film world is buzzing as the lineup for this year’s BFI London Film Festival has been unveiled, promising a spectacular mix of animated masterpieces and powerhouse dramas.
Festival attendees can anticipate some major world premieres, including the latest animated feature Wildwood from Laika, directed by Travis Knight. Alongside it, cinephiles will get to experience the neo-noir animation Ray Gunn, starring the dynamic duo of Scarlett Johannsson and Sam Rockwell.
The festival also shines a spotlight on powerful biographical storytelling with the world premiere of In The Shadows. This biopic delves into the powerful life of Ramla Ali, the UK’s first female Muslim ring champion, and features the acclaimed West End adaptation Frank And Percy, brought to life by the stellar performances of Ian McKellen and Roger Allam. The film is helmed by director Sean Mathias.
Beyond the London festivities, the festival throws its gaze across the globe, featuring a compelling selection of films from the Cannes international scene. Highlights include the Palme d’Or winner Fjord, directed by Cristian Mungui, alongside other critically acclaimed entries such as Paweł Pawlikowski’s Fatherland and Andrey Zvyagintsev’s Minotaur and Club Kid, directed by Jordan Firstman. These selections showcase the diverse and often breathtaking quality of global cinema.
