The takeaway is clear: the company’s diversified business model helps buffer against the volatility inherent in the film business, proving that long-term franchise health often trumps single-film performance.

Despite the corporate reassurance, the financial reality of the production remains significant. With an estimated budget of around $165 million, while still a substantial investment for a Star Wars movie, the studio felt they could have achieved greater success at the box office.
