Matt Rife clashes with paranormal investigator online
The digital realm often serves as a stage for unexpected collisions, and lately, comedian and actor Matt Rife has found himself at the center of an online dispute involving a paranormal investigator.
The friction arose following a shared post on social media that promoted an event at the Haunted Warren Museum, which featured commentary from paranormal expert Chris Mac regarding the Salem Witch Trials. The interaction quickly escalated when Rife responded to Mac’s lengthy comment with extremely aggressive language.
In a heated exchange, Rife allegedly called Mac a “lifeless douchebag” and instructed him to “remove himself from earth,” demonstrating a stark shift in tone from the shared public interest discussion.
The situation gained further traction when Mac responded on Facebook, addressing the personal nature of the conflict. He stressed that he did not want Rife to bully anyone with autism, clarifying that he has autism and emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable.
While the exchange provided a moment of high drama, observers noted that the context surrounding the comments was subsequently deleted by both parties, leaving questions about the full nature of the exchange. Some sources suggested that the complete conversation lacked the necessary context to fully understand the interaction between Rife and Mac.
Despite the online turbulence, Rife recently shifted focus toward more lighthearted collaborations. In a separate post, the comedian showcased a different side of his career by shouting out the upcoming film Super Troopers 3.
The collaboration involved Rife acting in a skit with Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme, where he pretended to hire the Vermont troopers as his guards—and they were seen munching on his snacks. This post served to promote Searchlight Pictures and Rife’s other upcoming projects, including the comedy Rolling Loud: The Movie.
