Brandon Riegg, VP of nonfiction and transmedia at Netflix, highlighted the appeal of this strategy, noting that great adaptations succeed because they tap into universally loved characters and worlds. “With Crazy Taxi, Sonic, and Stranger Than Heaven, we get to work across three completely different eras of Sega’s catalog, celebrating everything fans love while introducing them to new audiences,” he stated.
The celebration doesn’t end there. Looking ahead, Sega is gearing up for a new chapter in the Crazy Taxi saga. In 2027, fans can expect Crazy Taxi: World Tour, a new entry for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. This upcoming title will follow the beloved cabbie Axel as he races across five global cities in a quest to recover his stolen taxi, featuring classic drivers like Gena, B.D. Joe, and Gus alongside new characters.
