Dirty Monkeys’ war comedy-drama, Once Upon a Time in the Middle East, demonstrated an incredible staying power, securing the number one spot at the mainland China box office for an astonishing fifth consecutive weekend.

The film’s popularity translated directly into massive financial success, drawing an audience eager for sweeping narratives and entertaining performances. Over the September 11 to 13 weekend, the movie grossed RMB52.9 million, an impressive figure equivalent to approximately $7.8 million.
