The story begins with Cliff and Reg, two men in possession of a hefty bag of diamonds, who seek refuge in a remote Pennsylvania motel. They believe this isolated location offers the perfect place to disappear, but their getaway quickly turns into a nightmare when they encounter the strange, unsettling reality of the place and its inhabitants.
The motel, ostensibly a place of rest, is instead governed by siblings Lester and LouAnne, who are running a decidedly frightening and morally ambiguous side hustle. As the night deepens, the quiet isolation shatters, as new, unexpected guests arrive, each carrying their own secrets.
Among those arriving are Hal, a math teacher with a deadly past, who is dispatched to retrieve the stolen jewels, and a mother and her daughter, Sunny, who are simply trying to relocate.
This film marks the fourth feature film collaboration between acclaimed directors Nick Psinakis and Kevin Ignatius, building on their shared vision for complex, character-driven narratives. Their previous works, including the comedy My Best Friend’s Famous and the horror film The Long Dark Trail, showcase their talent for weaving intricate, atmospheric stories.
