The prehistoric panic is back, and this time it’s hitting the concrete jungle. Following the massive success of the 2019 creature feature Crawl, a new cinematic adventure is brewing, bringing Mason Gooding and Emily Rudd back to face down some seriously scaly adversaries.

The original film established a gripping premise: a father and daughter are trapped in a basement as giant man-eating alligators overrun their home during a devastating Category 5 hurricane. Starring Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper, the movie was a critical and commercial hit, grossing $91 million worldwide from a relatively modest $14 million budget.

Now, the story leaps from the Florida disaster zone to the heart of New York City. The sequel shifts the terror, plunging the action into the streets and sewers as gators emerge amidst the urban landscape following another catastrophic storm.

At the helm of this thrilling sequel is director Alexandre Aja, who will once again guide the narrative. Aja is set to return to direct the film, with production slated to begin later this month in Hungary.

The creative team behind the project is stacked with talent. In addition to Aja, the script was shaped by Jason Harry Pagan, Andrew Deutschman, and Gregory Levasseur. The production is overseen by a powerful trio including Craig Flores, Sam Raimi, and Aja.

With Gooding and Rudd joining forces again, audiences can expect an elevated spectacle, blending the visceral horror of giant reptiles with high-stakes urban action. Prepare for a new level of mayhem as the monsters find their way into the city that once tried to protect them.
