In a high-stakes custody battle, actress Rumer Willis has sought an emergency court order, aiming to keep her ex-husband Derek Thomas’ visitation with their daughter, Louetta, supervised. The move comes amidst serious allegations that Thomas has violated existing custody orders and exercised unsafe judgment regarding their family since early 2026.

Willis filed the emergency request, asking the judge to prolong supervised visitation with Thomas while the legal dispute continues. The filing details a pattern of behavior that she claims demonstrates a disregard for court mandates and the safety of their child.

Allegations of Unsafe Conduct

The court documents Willis obtained detail several incidents that form the basis of her claims. She alleges that Thomas made dangerous decisions concerning their daughter while navigating complicated custody arrangements, particularly involving a court-mandated nanny.

Willis claims that Thomas refused to accept a replacement nanny, despite the nanny citing health issues and needing to step away from the role. Furthermore, she alleges that Thomas and his attorney argued for unsupervised time with Louetta, directly contradicting a June 9 court order. There are also claims that Thomas refused to allow a court-ordered supervisor into his home.

The concerns extend to specific situations involving the nanny and supervised time. Willis asserts that Thomas left the nanny with their daughter during a Fourth of July parade, and there were reports of Thomas spending time with Louetta in an Airbnb with strangers while forcing the nanny to wait outside.

Adding to the dispute are allegations of reckless behavior. Willis claims Thomas sought to drive a vehicle at 55 mph on a five-lane highway while accompanied by Louetta, opting instead to walk nearly two and a half miles with their daughter in extreme heat rather than rent a car.

The court filing includes declarations from three nannies and communications between the couple, providing a detailed account of the events. In response to these serious allegations, Thomas and his representatives have issued denials.
