Sadie Sink updates X-Men MCU Reboot filming start date
Sadie Sink, the breakout star of Stranger Things, has thrown some exciting light on the upcoming timeline for Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated X-Men reboot. After recently making her MCU debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Sink finally opened up about her future projects and how she plans to weave her next adventure.
In a recent interview, Sink shared an intriguing roadmap for her next endeavors. She indicated that following the conclusion of the Spider-Man film, she is planning to tackle the X-Men reboot first, before diving into a new series with FX and A24 titled The Marriage Plot. This ambitious schedule suggests a dynamic and exciting year ahead for her creative journey.
“We’ll shoot X-Men, and then I’m going to do a series with FX and A24 called The Marriage Plot, so that’ll be next year,” Sink revealed. She added that this approach allows for scheduling flexibility, noting the excitement of having more room in the production calendar.
Beyond the dates, Sink shared her enthusiasm for the characters she is stepping into. As Jean Grey, she spoke passionately about the complexity of the X-Men dynamic. “All the women in X-Men are so strong and interesting—their relationship with their powers, how they’re capable of doing incredible things,” she noted.
She reflected on the narrative depth required for these powerful characters. Sink observed that the story benefits from exploring the negative consequences associated with immense power. “It was kind of nice to start out with the negative side of it with Jean, how she’s just learning what she’s capable of. And before she can even develop her relationship to her powers and what they mean to her, they are used by people who want to do harm with what she’s capable of, what her sister’s capable of.”
Marvel Studios has already begun the process of casting other key members for the reboot. Speculation is swirling around the casting of newcomers to the team, with names like Kit Connor being considered for Cyclops, while Bill Skarsgård and Tom Pelphrey are reportedly in the running for Professor X. The anticipation builds as fans await the official announcement regarding when this powerful superhero team will officially hit the screen.
