Get ready to watch some serious swing drama, because Netflix and Will Ferrell have unveiled the full-length trailer for The Hawk, a new pro-golf comedy series set to debut on July 16th.
At the heart of the story is Lonnie Hawkins, portrayed by Will Ferrell. Hawkins was once the undisputed number one golfer back in 2004, but now he’s grappling with the humbling reality of fading glory. Surrounded by his ex-wife and his son Lance—who represents golf’s new golden generation—Lonnie faces a daunting challenge: recapturing the fame he once held.
Yet, despite the clear signs that his career is winding down, Lonnie refuses to accept defeat. Driven by an almost impossible fantasy, he insists he is only one stroke away from achieving the greatest comeback in golf history, chasing the elusive Grand Slam.
This pursuit of epic golfing redemption is joined by a stellar ensemble cast ready to bring some comedic flair to the fairway. Ferrell is joined by a talented group including Molly Shannon, Jimmy Tatro, Fortune Feimster, Luke Wilson, Chris Parnell, Katelyn Tarver, and David Hornsby.
