Vernon Wells and Marc Price join Witchcraft The Lanterne of Light
The horror genre is buzzing, and the latest installment of the long-running franchise, Witchcraft, is bringing some seriously seasoned talent to the table. With the upcoming eighteenth film, Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light, the production is assembling a cast that promises both genre history and palpable atmosphere.
Joining the fray are two names with deep roots in cinematic mythology: Vernon Wells and Marc Price. Wells, an Australian actor, brings a pedigree built on iconic villainy and action, having portrayed Wez in The Road Warrior and the notorious Bennett in Commando. He is stepping into Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light not only as a cast member but also as an executive producer, lending his experience and presence to the project.
Equally compelling is Marc Price, who is channeling his knack for cult horror into a new adventure. Best known to television viewers for roles like Skippy Handelman on Family Ties, Price is a fan favorite among horror aficionados, thanks to his memorable performance as Eddie “Ragman” Weinbauer in the cult classic Trick or Treat.
In Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light, Price plays Blake, a reporter thrust into the unknown. Blake and his team venture into the rugged North Carolina wilderness to investigate the spectral legend surrounding the Lanterne of Light, an ancient manuscript tied to the sinister cult known as the Children of the Hollow. What begins as a paranormal inquiry quickly spirals into a desperate fight for survival.
This expedition unites the new actors with a familiar ensemble. The cast already features recognized names, including Eric Roberts, Lisa Wilcox, and Sandy Johnson, who returns to the horror world after playing Judith Myers in John Carpenter’s original Halloween. Other key contributors include Kato Kaelin, Andrew Pierson, and Kristina Lafser.
Director Carissa Pierson is steering the production toward a darker, more atmospheric approach to the Witchcraft series, promising a rich, immersive experience. Principal photography is slated to begin in North Carolina in October 2026, with a release targeted for 2027. Fans looking for genre-driven suspense with a weighty sense of history are certainly in for a treat.
