The world of cinema and gaming is buzzing with fascinating updates, revealing a mix of exciting production schedules, daring technical decisions, and blockbuster expectations.

In the world of filmmaking, the epic journey of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert 2 is gearing up for a return. Guy Pearce recently provided a glimpse into the timeline for the sequel, suggesting that while the original charmed audiences in 1994, the next chapter will require some patience. The production schedule is set for filming in 2027, with a planned release in 2028. The director, Stephan Elliott, is back at the helm, bringing a fresh vision to the storied world of the film, which already featured work with the late Terence Stamp.

Meanwhile, other creative collaborations are finding their footing. The talented cast and crew behind the high-profile family drama Wet are also making waves. Filmmaker Alma Har’el, known for her work on Honey Boy, is leading the charge on this new feature, which stars Javier Bardem alongside Rebecca Ferguson, who brings her star power from Mission: Impossible. The story, which explores complex family dynamics and is set within the historic confines of Patrick Wachsberger’s 193, is set to begin filming early next year.

Action fans will also have a specific viewing experience planned for The Further Mis-Adventures of Cliff Booth. David Fincher’s latest offering is not aiming for regular cinemas or PLF screens; instead, the film will be exclusively presented on IMAX screens. This means that while the movie is expected to hit a significant audience around Thanksgiving, it will be accessible in approximately 350 U.S. locations, solidifying its status as a premium theatrical event.

Shifting gears to the gaming world, the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI continues to generate intense discussion among developers and hardware enthusiasts. Rockstar Games head of development, Rob Nelson, has offered some insight into the technical realities of the next installment. It is understood that the game is slated to run at 30 frames-per-second on consoles, including the PS5 Pro. Nelson indicated that the focus is currently on consulting the technical team to determine if a 60 fps option can be achieved at launch or in the future.

This technical hurdle is widely believed to be less about the graphics card and more about the central processing unit (CPU). The consensus is that the CPU performance will be the key factor determining frame rate stability, even as the console offers likely much better image quality.
