X-Men Star in MCU Heat 2 Role Producer Says
When the casting rumors began swirling about a major crossover role, the answer finally emerged: it was simply untrue. A producer behind the critically acclaimed Heat 2 debunked a persistent claim that the star of the X-Men franchise had turned down a role in the crime epic sequel.
The buzz had escalated as Marvel Studios announced Inde Navarrette as part of the upcoming mutant film, but whispers suggested Navarrette had rejected the opportunity in Michael Mann’s project. However, the truth, as clarified by the executive producer of Heat 2, Shane Salerno, is that Navarrette was considered for the role but was never offered it.
“It’s simply untrue,” Salerno stated, putting an end to the speculation. The clarification reveals that while Navarrette met with director Michael Mann, the opportunity did not materialize for the sequel, allowing the casting process to continue for the exciting developments in the criminal world.
Meanwhile, Navarrette is set to bring her intensity to the mutant world as Rogue in Marvel Studios’ next feature. Directed by Jake Schreier, the reboot aims to introduce a fresh generation of mutants into the MCU, setting the stage for some seriously compelling storytelling.
The cast for the X-Men film is already shaping up with talent, including Sadie Sink, Samara Weaving, Kit Connor, Christopher Abbott, Maya Boyd, and Adam Driver, all joining the D23 roster.

For instance, Odessa Young is reportedly in discussions to play Charlene Shiherlis, a role originally played by Ashley Judd in the original film.
