Shawn Levy‘s upcoming feature film, Star Wars: Starfighter, promises an entirely fresh start, setting the stage for high-stakes action following the events of the sequel trilogy.
Central to this new saga is a dynamic cast, led by Ryan Gosling and Amy Adams. While Gosling anchors the film, Adams joins as second billing, lending her star power to a role that is proving to be more about the experience than the complexity.
Adams has opened up about her time on set, sharing how balancing deep-seated fandom with professional acting demands can feel like walking a tightrope. Speaking on the experience, she admitted that her part was relatively small, focusing instead on the fun of the production itself. She recounted the sheer excitement of seeing all the props and visiting the creature shop twice—a truly cool experience!

Adams confessed feeling nervous on the first day, struggling to shift from the role of a devoted fangirl into that of a professional actress on a massive Star Wars set. “I had a very small part,” she shared, explaining the difficulty of finding that balance. She noted the challenge of managing her enthusiasm while stepping into her professional acting mode.
Despite feeling nervous, Adams expressed immense enjoyment for the project and its characters. “It’s just so cool,” she remarked, clearly delighted by the world she was immersed in, even as she found herself rooting for the character of Flynn Gray.
While Adams’ role is concise, there are intriguing whispers about her character’s larger significance. Reports suggest that her character plays a pivotal role in guiding her son on a quest to find his uncle (Gosling), who will transport him to the New Jedi Academy.
