Inde Navarrette, the breakout star of the supernatural horror film Obsession, is embracing the wild speculation surrounding her character by some of the most devoted fans. When asked about the persistent fan questions regarding Nikki Freeman’s fate, Navarrette revealed a surprising enthusiasm for the theories audiences have built around her story.

She noted that rather than direct inquiries, the fanbase prefers to craft their own interpretations, often developing elaborate theories about what happens to Nikki. This dynamic between creator and audience is proving to be an exciting experience for her.

“Obviously everybody is like, ‘Does Nikki go to jail?’” Navarrette shared in a recent interview, highlighting the common focus of fan discourse. However, she explained that the real fascination lies in how these interpretations evolve organically from the community.

Instead of straightforward questions, fans tend to craft their own narratives, and Navarrette finds this process incredibly engaging. “People don’t really ask me questions; they kind of like come up with their own theories,” she observed.

She drew a parallel between her relationship with her fans and her own creative habits. Like many artists, she admits that forming theories is a natural part of the creative process. “I think it’s super fascinating because I also come up with theories about certain movies,” she said.

Navarrette expressed genuine excitement about being on the other side of this creative engagement. She finds it interesting to know the script and the details, yet still observe how viewers interact with the material they love. “To me, it’s interesting to be on the other side, and I know the script and things, but it’s fun,” she shared.

The success of Obsession, directed by Curry Barker, cemented Navarrette’s status in the horror landscape. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September 2025 and garnered significant critical acclaim, including multiple awards such as wins at the Seattle International Film Festival and the Astra Midseason Movie Awards.

Prior to her horror breakthrough, Navarrette had already established herself in other cinematic roles, appearing in films like Superman & Lois and 13 Reasons Why. Now, she is enjoying the vibrant, fan-driven conversation that surrounds the world of Obsession, demonstrating a wonderful connection between the artist and her audience.
